The Corporation wishes to fill the following vacant position with a result-oriented, dynamic and self-driven professional to achieve its corporate objectives;
Assistant Human Resource Manager
Reporting to the Head of Human Resource, the main role of the Assistant Human Resource Manager is to assist the Human Resource Manager direct and manage the operations and implementation of the HR functions which include HR policy formulation, workforce planning, employee resourcing, recruitment, staffing, performance management, training and development, organizational change/design and the HR initiatives.
The person must have a clear understanding of the employer’s business objectives and be able to in liaison with the Head of Human Resource devise and implement policies which select, develop and retain the right Human Resource needed to meet these objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in working closely with departments, increasingly in a consultancy role, assisting line managers to understand and implement HR policies and procedures
- Assist in the implementation of the corporation’s structure.
- Monitor and update the Corporation’s Human Resource establishment
- Assist in implementing and managing Strategic HR objectives, projects and initiatives
- Assist in the preparation of job profiles/requirements for recruitment purposes
- Assist in the review, formulation and /or updating of HR policy and procedure documents
- Assist in Managing of staff performance management process
- Assist in Monitoring the operations of the Human Resource Management Information System
- Assist in supporting/advising all Heads of departments on HR matters
- Assist in the handling of Industrial Relation matters and any other HR related litigations on behalf of the Corporation
- Assist in the negotiations with staff and their representatives (for example, trade union officials) on issues relating to pay and employment conditions
- Assist in the administering of the payroll and maintaining of employee records
- Assist in the review of the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management or Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences with a Post Graduate Higher National Diploma in Human Resource Management. A Masters Degree in Human Resource Management will be an added advantage.
- At least seven (7) years work experience in the position of an Assistant Human Resource Manager
- Must be a holder of Certified Public Secretary Kenya qualifications (CPSK)
- Must be a registered member of Institute of Human Resource Management. Full membership category with Institute of Human Resource Management will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge in Human Resource Management Information Systems

- Proven skills in handling Human Resource function of a large workforce
- Result driven and dynamic person
- Have demonstrated a high standard of professional competence and administrative ability required for direction and coordination of planning, development and maintenance of Human Resource function.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively evaluate HR practices and procedures and make recommendations benchmarking with best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to creatively execute HR Strategies to achieve the main HR objectives that drive the achievement of the overall Corporation objectives.
- Knowledgeable in the New Labour statutes
