Basic Purpose: To manage the security function of the Group in a manner that ensures security of the Group’s assets and employees and supports the achievement of business objectives.

Supervision: Works under general supervision. Follows established procedures; work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy. Some latitude for independent judgment.
Level of impact: Stretched impact; failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or recommendations make cause delay in program and/or schedules and may result in allocation of additional resources.Department: Admin

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, analyze and advise on all organization’s security needs as may be necessary to secure company assets and employees.
- Manage the service provision contract with the security appointed firm(s), monitoring their performance and reporting areas of concern to the Head of Security/Directors
- Continually review the security needs and risks for the Group and make improvement recommendations based on best practice and emerging security trends
- Carry out thorough investigations, review investigation reports and make relevant recommendations.
- Develop and maintain proactive security systems and controls capable of delivering a fast and accurate response.
- Work closely with security service provider(s) to ensure that work is appropriately planned, organised, and co-ordinated to cover all the security needs of the Group.
- Take full responsibility for security equipment reliability, ensure that equipment is in good working condition, is maintained appropriately and r any faults are reported as required.
- Develop effective working relations with external security bodies such as the police, local authorities, etc and attend relevant security meetings.
- Periodically brief the Directors, management and staff on security issues, issuing alerts as and when necessary to ensure security of assets and employees
- Conduct security training for Directors. management and staff to ensure that all are aware of the personal security and risks and of their responsibilities regarding the same
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- To closely monitor the company’s CCTV system and forward reports to the management with appropriate recommendations.
- To collect intelligence reports regarding the company and advice the Management accordingly.
- To advice the management on matters regarding and/ or criminal nature and liaise with security agencies accordingly, to have an updated security information.
- To advice the management on security procedures and policies.
- To supervise the security personnel and ensure company security goals and objectives are achieved.
- To conduct operational training for security personnel i.e. fire drills, first aid and evacuation procedures etc.
- To enforce discipline on security personnel to ensure right people get into the premises as per the company rules and regulations.
- To screen new recruits and to ensure their follow-ups after engagement.
- To ensure that all guards inspect all employees as per the rules and regulations.
- To perform any other duties as will be assigned from time to time.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience
- A first degree
- Police training, Criminology and investigation training
- 8 years experience in a similar role
- Corporate secutiry experience is a must
- Culturally aware.
- Knowledge of English and Swahili
- IT proficient
