We are looking for Head Chef in a small scale luxury safari lodge (8 cottages), serving international cuisine (incl. packed meals and live BBQ events.)

- preparation of various types of international dishes (4 course dinners)
- preparation of packed breakfasts and lunches
- co-ordination of kitchen (including three other kitchen staff)
- correct food portioning and costing
- compilation of menu
- preparing the weekly shopping requirements for the kitchen
- correct storage of fresh and dry kitchen supplies
- proper stock keep of all goods
Educational qualifications and experience
- being able to read and write in English
- being able to follow a recipe
- must have previous experience in similar job environment
Special Skills Required
- able to communicate well with the guests and kitchen team members
- creative
- willing to train junior staff
- must be highly flexible and adaptable to live in a remote setting in Uganda , with off days scheduled according to lodge occupancy
- ready to work under pressure
- must be diligent and trustworthy
- friendly and outgoing personality
The salary payable depends on the experience and knowledge that is brought to the table, indicative package is USD 500-600 monthly plus board.
