Workshop Manager, HR Manager, Procurement Officer, Workshop Supervisor and Engineering Graduate Trainees Jobs in Mombasa Kenya

A well known Mombasa based Company which specialises in providing engineering and steel construction solutions and proven technologies in the fields of Oil and Gas, Power Generation, and Mining is looking for suitable candidates to fill the following positions.
 

1. Heavy Steel Fabrication Workshop Manager
 

This position requires a person who is capable of working with minimum supervision, and has
demonstrable track record of running a busy steel fabrication workshop. 

He/She will be responsible for fabrication of components to support ongoing remote site projects as well as a variety of finished products as required by Clients.
 

Duties include interpretation of Clients’ drawings, production planning and execution, and quality control and assurance. 

He/She will supervise a diverse workforce involved in various production activities, from material handling forming, welding, etc, up to packaging of finished goods.

Qualifications and experience
 

This position requires someone who is capable of working with minimum supervision, has a demonstrable track record of running a busy workshop and meets the following other criteria:

• HND in mechanical engineering
• Minimum of 10 years experience of which includes fabrication planning and scheduling.
• Familiar with NDT (RT, DPT, MPI, UT etc).
• Flexible in utilisation of available manpower and strong at driving efficiency and controls.
• Knack for compliance with safety at work rules and legislation.
• Strong at driving efficiency and cost control.
• Computer literate with knowledge of AUTOCAD and MSP applications.
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good oral and written communication skills

2. HR Manager
 

The right candidate will be familiar with Kenya’s Labour Laws.

Duties include design and maintenance of the Company’s HR processes and procedures, recruitment of staff for projects in and out of the Country, coordination of training activities, administration of payroll and the Company’s security administration.
 

Qualifications and experience
 

This position is ideal for someone who is familiar with handling of periodic labour contracts, outsourced labour management and capable of promoting loyalty towards the Company in an industry of short term employment environment.

• Degree in a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in an HR Supervisory/Managerial position
• Computer literate
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good oral and written communication skills

3. Procurement Officer
 

He/she will be responsible local and overseas procurement of steel construction materials, consumables, equipment and spares.
 

Minimum Qualifications and experience

• Diploma in supply chain management (CIPS – UK or NEC)
• 5 years experience, preferably gained in an environment of procuring engineering materials and equipment
• Must know all importation and Customs procedures
• Computer literate
• Good oral and written communication skills
• High integrity and confidentiality

The job involves forward planning on stocks for ongoing projects scattered all over in the East and Central African Region.
 

4. Heavy equipment (construction machinery) Workshop Supervisor
 

He/She will be a person who requires minimum supervision and will be responsible for preventative
maintenance and prompt attention to equipment breakdowns

Minimum qualifications

• HND in mechanical or automotive engineering
• 5 years experience in a supervisory position
• Computer literate
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills

5. Engineering Graduate Trainees
 

Fresh University graduates with minimum Honours degree holders in mechanical engineering who wish to develop their careers in steel industry design, fabrication and project management.
