Chemonics seeks a chief of party for the anticipated USAID-funded Kenya Nutrition and Health Program Plus project.

This five-year, $35-million program aims to improve the nutritional status of Kenyans, increase access and demand for nutrition services, improve food and nutrition security, and support commodity management in Kenya. 

We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:
  • Oversee management and implementation of the project, ensuring activities meet stated goals and reporting requirements
  • Lead in liaison and coordination with USAID, key stakeholders, and other implementing partners
  • Interact with numerous Kenyan government institutions and senior-level national and county-level officials
  • Manage subcontractors to ensure their performance meets or exceeds technical and financial contractual requirements
Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in health, social services, business administration, or related field
  • Minimum seven years of experience managing complex public health programs or programs of similar scope and size
  • Minimum seven years of experience as mid-level or senior staff member in at least four of the following areas: nutrition; food security; food industry; HIV/AIDS care and treatment; maternal, newborn, and child Health; health systems strengthening; quality improvement/ quality assurance; social behavior change and communication; public sector and civil society capacity building; monitoring and evaluation; and operations research
  • Minimum five years of international experience in managing, overseeing, or evaluating public health programs of similar size and complexity
  • Minimum seven years of experience in program management and administration, financial management, award contractual compliance, subaward management, and tracking project performance and costs via specific funding streams
  • Strong management skills, strategic vision, leadership qualities, professional reputation, ability to create synergies where applicable, interpersonal skills, and written and oral presentation skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Professional level of oral and written fluency in English language
