Vacancy: Aquatic Resources Officer
Reporting to the Head of Department, the Aquatic Resources Officer will be part of a team of professionals managing aquatic resources through sustainable utilization.
Responsibilities:
The Aquatic Resources Officer will be responsible for effective, commercial, sustainable utilization of the company’s aquatic resources, based on environmental integrity principles.
- Strategic planning and implementation of strategic actions to optimize and expand existing aquatic resource utilization
- Optimize and manage existing aquaculture operations
- Oversee monitoring of environmental parameters and biodiversity in the aquatic resource system
- Plan and implement mitigating actions to ensure environmental integrity operations
- Ensure compliance with all government regulations and environmental, health and security standards, as well as the company Health, Safety & Environment Policy and it’s rules and regulations
- Participate in communication and educational activities in aquatic sciences and their application
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Degree in Fisheries, Conservation Biology, Coastal and Marine resources management, Natural Resource Management, Aquaculture, Animal Husbandry or similar fields
- Minimum 5 years work experience in management of aquatic resources, animal husbandry, wetland management, or related fields
- Self-driven, result-oriented, able to work independently and within a team
- Commitment to environmental integrity
- Business management skills
