Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, strategic direction and oversight for execution of LVCT business plan as part of the core management team

Qualifications and Skills
  • PHD in social sciences, public health or other relevant field from a recognized university with 5 years’ experience in a management position. A Master’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Research and M&E experience in HIV, SRH or related health area
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, analyze and disseminate research and strategic information
  • Excellent analytical, proposal writing, report writing, communication, presentation, interpersonal and supervision skills

Operating in the stable Central and Western Equatoria States of South Sudan, this large scale integrated program aims to improve service delivery of quality primary health care services and increase community access to these services.

Chief of Party (COP)
 
Reporting to the Team Leader, the Chief of Party (COP) will provide programmatic and technical leadership for USAID funded integrated service delivery program in South Sudan including mentorship of key staff. 

This includes directing program resources to ensure timely and cost-effective implementation of Program activities and maintaining collaborative partnerships with project NGO partners and multiple agency stakeholders.
 
The COP will be responsible for ensuring the project reporting requirements are met, and management of the donor relationship.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide programmatic leadership and strategic direction to an integrated primary health care program to increase the availability and use of PHC services in key areas.
  • Ensure technical and financial integrity of the Program and alignment of activities with Program goals, objectives and targets.
  • Ensure that the Program is technically sound, evidence-based and responsive to the needs of the country, its people and donors.
  • Direct the planning, implementation and management of the Program, ensuring the Program’s administrative and financial integrity.
  • Write and/or review technical components of materials and publications related to the Program and its development.

Qualifications:

Vacancy: Aquatic Resources Officer
 
Reporting to the Head of Department, the Aquatic Resources Officer will be part of a team of professionals managing aquatic resources through sustainable utilization.
 
Responsibilities:
 
The Aquatic Resources Officer will be responsible for effective, commercial, sustainable utilization of the company’s aquatic resources, based on environmental integrity principles.
  • Strategic planning and implementation of strategic actions to optimize and expand existing aquatic resource utilization
  • Optimize and manage existing aquaculture operations
  • Oversee monitoring of environmental parameters and biodiversity in the aquatic resource system
  • Plan and implement mitigating actions to ensure environmental integrity operations
  • Ensure compliance with all government regulations and environmental, health and security standards, as well as the company Health, Safety & Environment Policy and it’s rules and regulations
  • Participate in communication and educational activities in aquatic sciences and their application
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Degree in Fisheries, Conservation Biology, Coastal and Marine resources management, Natural Resource Management, Aquaculture, Animal Husbandry or similar fields
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in management of aquatic resources, animal husbandry, wetland management, or related fields
  • Self-driven, result-oriented, able to work independently and within a team
  • Commitment to environmental integrity
  • Business management skills

  • Implement the optimization of existing aquaculture operations
  • Review operating procedures and ensure consistent implementation
  • Day to day management of aquaculture operations
  • Record keeping and reporting
  • Implementation of extension projects
  • Monitoring water quality
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedule for equipment and facilities
  • Ensure compliance with all government regulations and environmental, health and security standards, as well as the company Health, Safety & Environment Policy and it’s rules and regulations
  • Plan and implement mitigating actions to ensure environmental integrity operations
  • Participate in relevant educational activities
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Certificate or diploma in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Applied Biology, Animal Husbandry or similar fields
  • Minimum 2 years work experience
  • Experience in working with life fish or other aquatic organisms
  • Basic knowledge of water chemistry and experience in basic water testing
  • Adequate knowledge of Microsoft Office packages for data collection, presentation and reporting
  • Self-driven, resourceful, result-oriented, able to work within a team
  • Hands-on and practical approach
  • Basic business management skills
