Job title: Project Officer (HIV)

Supervisor: Heath Manager

Location: Nairobi

The Project Officer will report to the Health Manager on cordination of all activities and support relating to GOAL Kenya programming in HIV, and specifically for support to partners for both implementation and for capacity building in HIV programming.

Major Responsibilities
  • Support GOAL partners in implementation of projects as sub-grants from GOAL Kenya through capacity building and training in order to enhance impact among vulnerable children and youth;
  • Development and execution of proposals, budgets and work plans for partners;
  • Coordinate with other technical staff in Health and GOAL Kenya in providing necessary training and capacity building in partnership support;
  • In liaison with the Programme Development Unit (PDU), act as focal point for GOAL in the mainstreaming of HIV and AIDS in all development and emergency programme activities;
  • Liaise with the Health Manager and the Youth Friendly Services Officer to sensitise partners and other stakeholders on key health promotion and HIV and AIDS issues (PMTCT,FANC, stigma reduction etc);
  • Ensure adaptation of the life skills curriculum, and it’s widespread and standardised adoption;

ACF - USA is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the following position;

Finance Coordinator

Reporting to the Admin Coordinator, the Finance Coordinator will be responsible for implementing ACF’s administrative and financial policies and procedures in the bases by training staff on accounting procedures, making sure that the monthly accounting for the entire mission is in line with ACF-USA requirements, developing budgets and other relevant documentation and producing financial viability and risk analysis of the organization with recommendations to senior management.

He she will be responsible of knowing and communicating on ACF programs and strategy to partners. S/he may be called upon to represent the organization in certain arenas including local authorities/tax bodies.

S/he will be responsible for general administration to include proper filing of administrative documents, provide financial analysis and recommendations e.g. salary adjustments, grades, annual review of the long term financial strategy, supervise payroll processing and payment of salaries.

The Finance Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining and developing an esprit de corps with the finance team and between other department as well as training the finance team, new staff, and travel periodically to bases to give in-field training: Supporting coordinators and PMs by providing financial analysis and guidance for making decisions

Qualifications and Skills required
  • Bachelor degree in accounting, finance or related field. A masters degree in the relevant field is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years humanitarian work in developing or emergency context with at least 2 years of professional finance or accounting experience, preferably in an NGO
  • Excellent knowledge of finance/accounting procedures.
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills as well as verbal and written communication
  • Strong administrative, organizational, finance and management experience required
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing work conditions.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • Proficiency in computer skills to include spread sheets, internet/e-mail, accounting package
This position is contractual on a one-year renewable basis.
