Requirements:

Primary Responsibilities:

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Act as the voice-of-the-customer in the lab and ensure that all client requests for information pertaining to analytical testing are met in a timely and effective manner and records of this activity clearly maintained.

Advices the procurement department will maters regarding purchase of medical equipment.

Ensure that all generators in the MSK network are set up and functioning.
Measure: Un-interrupted power supply within MSK operations.
 
Maintain and equipment inventory for ALL MSK equipment as well as a comprehensive log of equipment maintenance and repairs  
Measure: Accurate Equipment inventory list and maintenance log book.
 
Participate in incident investigations involving medical equipment that affects staff and clients    Measure: Accurate incident investigation reports.
 
Perform quarterly stock take and reconciliation of  equipment in the MSK channels
Measure: Reconciled quarterly stocktake report.

The Program Operations Manager reports directly to the Director Business Management and will be a member of the Senior Management Team.

Salary: KShs. 200,000/- Gross Pay

Contract Type: Fixed Term - 2 years Renewable        

Marie Stopes Kenya (MSK) works in partnership with Marie Stopes International (MSI) and is a marketing focused, results orientated social enterprise. 

We provide efficient, effective and sustainable sexual and reproductive health services in Kenya through both a commercial and social driven approach. 

Our plan is to improve and expand comprehensive sexual reproductive health care all women and men by 2015.

The primary responsibility of MSK’s role is to further MSI’s Goal: THE PREVENTION OF UNWANTED BIRTHS and its mission of ensuring the individuals’ right to: CHILDREN BY CHOICE AND NOT BY CHANCE THROUGH INNOVATION.

Key Responsibilities  
 
Ensure proper positioning of MSK centres and operations across the country to achieve social business objectives. This will include identifying of ideal locations for the current centres as well as identifying through business casing potential areas where centres can be established. 
Measure:Identified locations with proper business cases to relocate existing or establish new centres 

Ensure all MSK operations and clinical staff meet existing local and national government legal operational regulations such as operational and compliance licenses. 
Measure: Display of up to date licenses in designated places and an updated staff clinical licenses file.  
 
Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organizations mission including supporting better management reporting, information flow and management, business processes and organizational planning between support office, centres, nursing home and regional offices.    
Measure: Documented operational systems and processes
 
Proper facilitation of MSK centres with human resources, supplies and technical assistance to achieve sustainability objectives.
Measure: Properly staffed, supplied and facilitated centres

Ensure availability of valid and updated leases and contracts of all MSK operations and third parties where applicable. 
Measure: Updated leases and contracts file

Proper maintenance of the physical state of all MSK centres and offices.   
Measure: Properly maintained Centres and Offices.
 
Ensure the achievement of centre revenues, surplus and CYP targets  
Measure: Achieved revenue, surplus and CYP targets.

Play a significant role in the long term planning including an initiative geared towards operational excellence and optimal use of resources.Measure: Annual and quarterly plans for the function
 
Provide support to the various projects and programs from an operational and resource stand point
Measure: Documented projects and program support.

  • Additional duties as necessary and directed by the Director of Business Management   
Skills and Experience

Qualifications:
  • Degree in Business Administration / Management or Higher Diploma in Management with at least at least 5 years’ experience in Operations Management.
  • Proven record of delivery of results
  • Valid driving license.
Experience:
  • At least three (3) years’ experience  
Skills:
  • Superior proficiency working with computers and ability to use Microsoft office.  
  • Ability to multi-task and able to work well under pressure.
  • Good record-keeping skills with the ability to track and follow up on various requests
  • Demonstrated high attention to detail and ability to follow through tasks to completion
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Good organisation and prioritisation skills
