Terms of Reference for a Consultancy to Develop a National Gender Based Affirmative Action Policy for the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Development
UN Women is seeking to recruit a local consultant who will work together with an international consultant to support the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Development in developing a gender based affirmative action policy.
The policy will include a set guidelines and steps on how to improve women's representation using affirmative action tools, and comprise a monitoring framework to track its results and implementation.
Overall Goal:
Strengthen the mechanisms for the implementation of the Kenya Constitution 2010 in areas of related to women's representation and participation in all spheres of national development including politics, public and private sector employment and civil society.

Person Specification
- Masters degree in Law or Social Sciences or economics.
- A minimum of five years experience in gender and women's empowerment work in Kenya.
- Academic or other writing on issues to do with Affirmative action will be an added advantage
Duration
- 28 days over a two month period.
