Finance and Administration Officer
The position:
The Finance and Administration Officer is responsible for both Health and
Education Programme in Mandera on Financial and Administrative matters to
ensure that programme support activities at Mandera office are conducted with
efficiency, within the budget and in accordance with TrĂ³caire policies and
procedures.
The holder will aim to achieve the strategic and operational goals of the
programme by monitoring cash flows and trends, ensure adherence to project
budgets by tracking income and expense accounts against budgets, analyzing
financial data and preparing financial reports, statements, and projections, in
addition to coordinating programme support activities in Mandera office.
This position will be based in Mandera, with regular visits to Nairobi office.
Competencies:
The candidate must have a Bachelors degree in Finance/Accounting or Business
Administration from a recognized University with strong finance and management
background, in addition to CPA (III) or ACCA Level II.
A minimum of 5 years experience budgeting and reporting for donor funded
projects preferably from the field level of an International NGO.
The candidate should also be computer literate with hands on experience using
an advanced and computerized accounting system. Audits and office management
skills is essential.
Other desirable skills include strong analytical, supervisory and leadership
skills, ability to prepare and present concise and accurate financial reports,
strong organizational skills, with the ability to plan, organize and implement
various activities within a time pressured environment.
The holder should also possess good communication skills, both verbal and
written, as well as have the ability to work both independently and as part of
a team.
Finance Officer (Emergency Intervention)
9 month fixed term position
The position:
Finance officer will support the finance team during the period of the
emergency drought intervention to ensure adherence to quality financial
stewardship, internal control and compliance with Audit requirements for the
Somalia Programme.
The position has a key focus on financial document review and data capture of
financial operations and reporting related to the emergency interventions. This
position is Nairobi based.
Competencies:
The candidate must have at least a Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting
from a recognized University in addition to a CPA (III) or ACCA Level II. A
minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role is essential.
The candidate should also be computer literate with excellent knowledge and
ability to use advanced and computerized accounting systems.

with the ability to plan, organize and implement various activities within a
time-pressured environment.

Technical Logistician - Nairobi
The position:
Under the supervision of the Logistics Coordinator, the Technical Logistician
is responsible for management of equipment, vehicle pool and general
installation and rehabilitations of Trocaire’s facilities. The Technical
Logistician will also compliment and support the Supply Logistician in routine
supply chain functions including procurement, storage and transport management.
The Technical Logistician is expected to be a flexible multiskilled person
capable of providing technical support in different areas of the logistics
function in the daily running of project activities.
The position is based in Nairobi with occasional travel to Mandera.
Competencies:
The candidate should be an experienced logistician with technical skills in at
least 3 or more of the following areas; supply management, IT, radio
communications, vehicle mechanics, energy/electricity and construction.
Minimum 5 years experience as a logistician with a humanitarian organization,
computing / office technology, general principles of procurement and supply
chain, basic knowledge of customs clearance procedures, and a valid driving
license.
A graduate diploma from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies
(CIPS) or its equivalent is desirable.
The holder should also be a good communicator, both verbal and written, as well
as have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
