YADEN

aim of partnering with young people, especially young women.
Assisting them identify their potential, turning these potentials into skills that can earn them descent livelihoods at the same time empowering young people to actively participate in social-cultural and econo-political development of their communities.
YADEN engages the arts to tackle the following thematic areas HIV/AIDS, Gender Based Violence, Education, Diversity and Entrepreneurship.
YADEN in partnership with Mercy Corps are implementing the ‘YES YOUTH CAN PROJECT’ a two year project funded by USAID in Central Kenya. YADEN seeks to fill the following positions.
Project Finance Officer
This position will be based in Thika, Kenya.
The Finance officer will be responsible for the overall accounting function of the project and will provide financial and administrative support and contribute to the effective and efficient running of the finance function.
The Finance Officer will report to the Project Manager.

Principle Accountabilities
- Maintain an up-to date record of all financial transactions and ensure that all the terms of the grant agreement are adhered to.
- Ensuring that statutory payments are timely and in compliance with the laws.
- Responsible for petty cash fund reimbursements and maintenance.
- Preparation & maintenance of the payroll
- Maintain a fixed assets register and ensure that the assets are properly tagged and safeguarded by carrying out frequent physical checks.
- Preparation and filing of monthly finance reports, quarterly and annual reports as required.
Skills
and competencies
- Minimum qualifications of a Bachelors degree in business or CPA (K), (Those with Bachelor of Commerce degree Accounting Option will have an added advantage).
- The candidate should have 3 years post qualification experience.
- Detail oriented, capable planner, strong analytical skills and a good team player.
- Must have in depth understanding of accounting systems, especially QuickBooks accounting package, be hands-on and self driven
Salary
Range
Kes 35,000/= to Kes 45,000/= depending on skills & competence.
