Job: Livelihood Project Officer

Duty station: Alinjugur, Garissa County or Modogashe, Lagdera distict
Contract duration: 12 months (with 3-month probation period)

Reporting to: Child Protection Project Manager
Duty station: Alinjugur, Garissa County or Modogashe, Lagdera distict
Contract duration: 12 months (with 3-month probation period)
Main responsibilities:
- To be responsible, under the supervision of the Child Protection Project Manager, for all aspects of the implementation of the Cash transfer and Income Generating Activities to support vulnerable families, targeted by Tdh Child Protection project in (a) Dadaab refugee complex and (b) rural divisions of Lagdera district.
- To conduct a Market survey and elaborate a suitable IGA strategy approach for nomadic or refugee households, including capacity building of the households.
- To support Tdh Social workers or Government Children’s Volunteers in the follow-up of the beneficiaries to strengthen their socio-economic conditions.
- To develop collaboration with the local authorities such as the District Children Officer, other partners and services in identify the most relevant IGA opportunities and mitigate risks of community and cultural resistances.
- To contribute to the capacity building of one local partner.
Requirements:
- Minimum diploma-level education in related field (economic and community development)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in projects aiming to strengthen livelihoods of vulnerable communities
- Project reporting and evaluation experience.
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili. Ability to communicate in local dialect is an asset.
- Willingness to live at village level (Alinjungur or Modogashe).
