The Social Service League M.P. Shah Hospital has embarked on a plan of re-visioning the Pathology Department to a modern state of the art Laboratory which provides professional and quality services not only to patients but also physicians.
As part of the plan, the position of Head of Pathology has been expanded and upgraded to one that will better serve the quality agenda of the Hospital, which has now entered a significant growth phase.
The Hospital is seeking to fill this role with a well reputed, dynamic Pathologist with talent and vision on developing the Pathology Department to a level of excellence that will raise the profile of the M.P. Shah Hospital Laboratory to the best in the Region.

The Pathologist must have:
- Demonstrable experience in managing, developing and co-ordinating all sub sections of the Laboratory Department in a Hospital of similar size.
- Specialist qualifications and experience in one or more areas of pathology. Specialization in histopathology will be an added advantage.
- Experience in providing clinical services in areas of laboratory medicine where they may be desirable (including but not limited to Hematology, infectious diseases and Endocrinology).
- An interest and ability to train technologists in all aspects of laboratory management and quality service delivery.
- Demonstrable experience in developing rigorous high quality clinical protocols and policies based on evidence based practice
- Good experience on quality control of all fields of pathology.
- Experience with working as a key member of a dynamic, progressive multi-disciplinary management team as well as a clear understanding and experience of working in a corporate board.
- Private practice license from Kenya medical and dental practitioners’ board.
- Evidence of experience in clinical pathological meeting in a hospital setting for continuous education.
