World
Provision Centre (WPC) is a Faith Based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO)
with a core mandate of promoting sustainable access to basic health care and
vital HIV and AIDS services to mobile population and persons living within the
vulnerable space along the transport corridors in Kenya.
The
Organization seeks to recruit qualified, dedicated and highly motivated
individuals who can work under minimal supervision to fill the following
positions:
1. Project Officer
Duration:
One
(1) year contract starting August 2012 with the possibility of extension
Reporting to the Director, the Project Officer will be responsible for
day-to-day program related work.
He
or she will work closely with other WPC staff to ensure effective planning,
implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all project activities and
outcomes.
Duties and responsibilities for this position will include but not limited to:
- Preparation of work and activity plans
- Supervision of project staff
- Monitoring of project activities and data quality
- Preparation of periodic project reports
- Maintenance of program related databases
- Participation in resource mobilization initiatives
Minimum
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or other relevant disciplines or;
- Diploma in Social Sciences or other relevant disciplines from a recognized institution
- Two years work experience preferably with an NGO
- Knowledge and working experience in HTC service provision is an added advantage.
- Good writing skills
- Excellent computer skills specifically in the Microsoft Office Suite.
2. Finance and Administration Officer
Duration:
One
(1) year contract starting August 2012 with the possibility of extension
Reporting to the Director, the Finance Officer shall be responsible for general
accounting and financial management processes within WPC.
Duties for this position will include but not limited to:

- Preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
- Receiving and making payments
- Procurement and management of program and office supplies
- Maintenance of books of accounts and financial records
- Maintenance of assets and asset registers
- Preparation of financial reports to Management and partners
- Remittance of statutory and other financial obligations
- Coordination of external audits
Minimum
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or other relevant disciplines or;
- CPA Part II
- Two years experience in similar position preferably in an NGO.
- Be conversant with computerized accounting systems such as quick books and sage.
- Must be a team player.
3. HTC Counsellors (4)
Duration:
One
(1) year contract starting August 2012 with the possibility of extension
Reporting to the Project Officer, the HTC Counsellors will be deployed to WPC
HIV Testing and Counseling Centres to provide HTC Services to target
populations.
Duties
for this position shall include but not limited to:
- Provision of counseling and testing services in static and outreach settings.
- Provision of group therapy counseling to HIV Support Groups.
- Preparation of activity and periodic reports.
- Collection and compilation of project and activity data
- Updating of the Referral Directory for Health Care Service Providers
- Maintenance of WPC’s Clients Counseling and Testing Database
- Remittance of reports to DASCOs and other relevant authorities.
Minimum
Requirements:
- Diploma in Counseling/HIV Management or other health related sciences from a recognized institution.
- NASCOP HTC Certificate.
- Previous experience working with a HTC Service providing organization.
- Excellent knowledge of computers specifically the Microsoft Office Suite.
