We are undertaking a groundbreaking research on the rape prevalence in all the urban slums in Nairobi.
We
are looking for an individual with experience and drive towards a research of
this nurture.Below is an outline of what we are looking for.
Specific tasks
Specific tasks
- Ensure that data from activities conducted is collected and regularly Into Ujamaa’s (Information System) database
- Participate in knowledge impact assessments and reporting
- Supervise & assist field agents
- Take lead in conducting participatory quality Monitoring and Evaluation of Ujamaa Projects
- Carry out objectives and indicator tracking to ensure meeting of targets set
- Identify challenges and build capacity of community units and staff on facilitation, data collection, mobilization skills among other identified needs
Reporting and Communication
- Submit M&E reports monthly and/or when demanded
- Ensure adherence to M&E reporting templates
- Generate regularly quality monitoring reports
- Identify success stories and stories for Ujamaa Website and blog
- Document best practices and report on the same Planning
- Participate in planning, implementation and coordination meetings
Requirements
- Degree in community development, social work, education or other relevant research discipline
- At least 2 years experience in program implementation, preferably with a development organization or humanitarian aid organization
- Understanding of qualitative, quantitative and participatory Research, Monitoring and evaluation methodologies and principles
- Have demonstrated ability of teamwork, local networking skills, organization, and communication and planning.
- Be able to demonstrate good mobilization and facilitation skills through experiences over the last 6 months and where possible to show certificate of formal/informal training.
- Familiarity with working with vulnerable communities in slums and host community administrative units and structures is a must.
- Knowledge of field research trial set-up.
- Computer skills in MS Office applications and SPSS software, coupled with the ability to learn new programs.
