The
Conservation Enterprise Development Programme (CEDP) was initiated through a
partnership of the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) and Laikipia Wildlife
Forum in June 2009.
It
sets out to establish the conditions for an ethical plant based trade to
develop in Laikipia.
The
CEDP seeks to provide economic incentives for communities to conserve and
manage their resources for sustainable use.
The
activities of the CEDP are to support producers’ capacity building, providing
effective extension services, facilitating the development of partnerships (at
the local, national and international levels), and supporting the development
of basic infrastructure.
Products
targeted include indigenous aloes and other medicinal plants, essential oils,
bee products.
The
following positions are currently vacant and qualified candidates are
encouraged to apply.
Production & Supply / Value Chain Manager

- Bachelor’s degree in applied sciences, business administration or related field plus 5 years technical experience in business implementation and research in natural products industry in East Africa.
- Business, strategic management, planning, leadership, analytical and statistical data management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify and address problems, meet deadlines, and stay within budget ·
- Strong negotiation, customer focus and networking ability.
- ISO 9000:2008 QMS training will be an added advantage
- Driving license of class BCE.
Ethno Botanical Research & Development Officer

- Bachelors of Science Degree.
- 5 years experience in research and development work.
- Good communication and analytical skills.
Bee Enterprise Development Officer

- 5 years of experience in capacity building, monitoring of community based bee keeping activities.
- Good communication skills
All
