Mutomo Hospital, a faith based organization committed to promoting access to quality health care is seeking a suitable candidate for the position of a Medical Officer.

Position : Medical Officer

 
Reports To : Senior Medical Officer
Location : Mutomo - Kitui

Job Purpose

The purpose of the job is to ensure the highest quality of treatment and patient care, according to the national health guidelines and hospital policy and philosophy.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Actively participate as a member of medical team in the delivery of optimum treatment and patient care
• identifying, reviewing, and revising patient treatment plans
• Provide technical support to a multidisciplinary clinical team in the provision of quality prevention, care, treatment and support services
• provide clinical mentorship and supportive supervision to the clinical team at the hospital and outreach clinics
• Actively participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement programs, assigned hospital committees, to enhance performance and effectiveness of clinical and nursing practice
• Support the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of hospital activities
• Facilitate capacity building through CMEs
• Maintain high ethics and efficiency among medical colleagues and other staff members

Qualification and Experience

• Bachelors degree in medicine
• Minimum 2 years experience in clinical work – technical experience in public health preferably with HIV/TB control programs an added advantage

• High sense of integrity, confidentiality and sound clinical judgment
• A team player, positive change manager and result-oriented
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with ability to influence and advise
