The Chief Executive Officer shall be responsible to the Board of Directors for the operation and administration of the Sacco society on a day-to-day basis while paying attention to:-
- The
implementation and adherence to the policies, procedures and standards
- Systems
that have been established to facilitate efficient operations and
communication
- The
planning process that has been developed to facilitate achievement of
targets and objectives
- All
staff matters, particularly human resource development and training
- Adherence
to the established code of conduct
- The
act, these regulations, rules, by laws and any other applicable laws
The
chief executive shall ensure that the Board of directors are frequently and
adequately appraised about the operations of the Sacco society through
presentation of relevant Board papers, which shall cover, but not limited to
the following areas:
- Financial
statements (monthly, quarterly and annual); showing current compared with
past period actual performance, the budget compared with the actual and
with explanations for any variances
- Capital
structure and adequacy
- Delinquent
loan list, and in particular growth in loans, loan losses, recoveries and
provisioning
- Statement
of comprehensive income (monthly, quarterly and annual) comparison with
budgeted against actual
- Sources
and distribution on profile of savings and deposits
- All
insider dealings and non-performing insider loans
- Reports
on violation of the Act, these regulations and any other applicable law,
and remedial actions taken to comply
- Large
risk exposures, investment portfolio, any regulatory reports, and internal
reports and any other relevant areas to the Sacco society’s operations
Specifications
- A
minimum qualification of University degree in B.COM, BBA, BA, with good
understanding of financial matters
- Over
five (5) years experience in a busy institution and in high position.
- Must
demonstrate strong leadership skills, communication, interpersonal,
networking analytical and conceptual skills
- Ability
to work within timelines and proven track record of achievement
- Must
be computer literate
ICT Officer
The ICT Technical Officer's role is to provide lead technical support for the sacco's ICT infrastructure. The role provides day to day management of the physical and WAN, IT security, the Sacco network and acts as technical lead in new IT projects and scripting.
Key Duties
- To
assist the ICT Manager in the day-to-day activities of the Sacco ICT
department during core hours, and react quickly and efficiently to ICT
issues as they arise;
- Manage
and maintain the servers (both hardware and OS) and applications
- Provide
3rd line ICT support for all elements of the ICT Infrastructure including
network, server and workstations. Research, install and commission new ICT
equipment and software;
- Provide
basic assistance for staff with technical problems concerning their own
computers;
- Create
and maintain scripts to enter new staff/staff into various core
applications, databases and services;
- Identify
need and timing for installing updated software (operating systems and
applications);
- Assist
with network/domain security - including keeping current with threats,etc.;
- Maintain
and enforce ICT policies (group, hardware, software etc) in conjunction
with the ICT Manager.
- Manage,
maintain/upgrade and utilise the application packaging implementation;
- Install,
configure and manage/monitor/upgrade wireless and wired network
infrastructure;
- Operate
as focal point/channel for all ICT enquiries and technical matters
providing advice and guidance as appropriate. Specifically keeping current
with all available technologies to enhance the teaching and research
activities within the Sacco;
- Provide
basic training in local facilities and services; prepare documentation for
new technologies deployed / detail local aspects;
- Engage
in relevant training and self-improvement;
- Undertake
any other appropriate tasks as may be assigned by the ICT Manager;
- Identify
equipment needs and select suitable products under the ICT Manager's
authorisation;
- To
provide support and cover when other ICT staff are unavailable.
- Require
working knowledge of networking principles and of both wired and wireless
networks and experience of troubleshooting network problems;
- Require
good working experience with multiple operating systems;

responsibility;
- Willingness
to work unusual or extended hours on occasion in cases of operational
necessity;
- Ability
to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances and priorities.
Education
qualifications
- Diploma
in ICT related fields specialised in technical option
- Degree
in ICT related fields specialised in technical option (added advantage)
- Certification
in any technical qualification
- At
least two (2) years experience in a busy ICT environment with an indepth
exposure in computer hardware, software and programming
- Above
25 years of age
- Excellent
interpersonal skills and communication skills.
