established as a fully fledged University ¡n Kenya through the award of
Charter on March 2013 as stipulated ¡n the University Act No. 42 of
2012.
Currently, the University offers degree and diploma programmes in Education and Social Sciences, Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences, Business, Agriculture and Biotechnology and Pure and Applied Sciences.
The University is situated 15 km North of Karatina Town on Ragati Tea Factory/Kagochi tarmac road.

- Must have at least 5 articles in refereed journals since appointment as Associate professor.
- Should have supervised post graduate degree candidates.
- Should have attended and contributed at learned conferences, seminars or workshops.
- Should show evidence of continued research and effective teaching.
- Must be recognized and registered or registrable by relevant professional boards.
- Should show evidence of contribution to University life as well as national and international life.
- Should show evidence of academic leadership ¡n his/her area of specialization.
Associate Professor Grade 14
- Must have a PhD degree or its academic equivalent from a recognized University.
- Must have at least 4 years of teaching and research experience since becoming Senior Lecturer.
- Must have at least 4 articles in refereed journals since appointment as Senior lecturer.
- Should have supervised post graduate degree candidates.
- Should have attended and contributed at learned conferences, seminars or workshop.
- Should show evidence of membership of professional societies.
- Should show evidence of continued research and effective teaching.
- Should be recognized and registered by relevant professional boards.
- Should show evidence of contribution to University development as well as national and international life.
Senior Lecturer Grade 13
- Should have a PhD or its academic equivalent from a recognized University.
- Must have at least 4 years of teaching or research experience at University level since becoming Lecturer/Research Fellow.
- Must have a minimum of 4 publications in referred journals since appointment as Lecturer/Research Fellow.
- Should show evidence of contribution to University development through active participation ¡n departmental matters, students, academic advising, schools and University meetings, committee membership and others.
- Should have supervised post graduate degree candidates.
- Should have attended and contributed at learned conferences, seminars or workshop.
Lecturer Grade 12
- Should have a PhD degree or its equivalent from a recognised University.
Tutorial Fellow Grade 11
- Applicants must be a holder of a master’s degree in the relevant area from recognized University. In addition applicants must;
- Have at least two (2) years University teaching experience.
- Be prepared to pursue PhD in the area of specialization.
- Should be recognized and registered or registrable by relevant body.
Library Systems Librarian Grade 12:

Applicants must be holders of Bachelors degree in Information Sciences (IT option) OR comparable qualification (Information Technology/Computer Science) from a recognized university with at least five (5) years working experience in a well computerized academic library possession of masters degree will be an added advantage.
In addition the applicant
should have experience with integrated library systems, strong
knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, Apache, and relational
databases and proficiency with HTML and XML, java script, Perl or PHP.
Senior Library Assistant Grade 11:

Applicants must be holders of Bachelor degree in Information Science from a recognized university with at least three (3) years working experience post qualification, in a large and well computerized academic library.
Applicants with practical
knowledge of Iibrary systems especially open source software, web-based
services and current developments in library applications of

Applicants must be a holder of Diploma from a recognized institution. Three (3) years working experience.
