Overall purpose:
 

This position is responsible for the growth, profitability and effective & efficient management of a licensed Fund Manager,the investment arm of a reputable retail-focused commercial Bank with branches all over Kenya. 

The holder of the position is expected to take overall charge of the subsidiary, including its new investment in a multi-million shilling ICT system, and report to the Board of Directors. 

The successful candidate is expected to strategize, innovate and introduce new products and provide strategic advice to clients on investment options and oversee the management of various funds and investment portfolios.
 

Brief Job Profile:

• Conduct research, competitor analysis and monitor trends in finance and investments to derive a three year strategy.
• Formulate and implement a marketing plan, and business & product developments.
• Formulate the subsidiary’s policies and procedures.
• Forecast, monitor and review risk and mitigating measures.
• Complement the Bank’s business activities and assist its HNW and corporate clients in project finance coordination and management.
• Set performance standards, targets and action plans for the subsidiary’s staff and monitor performance.

Person Profile:

• Business related degree from a recognized institution.
• Additional professional qualifications (KIB/ACIB/CPA/ACCNCFA) will be an added advantage.
• 5 years experience in Banking/financial institution, 3 of which should be in a managerial position in corporate finance or preferably investment banking.
• Strategic and analytical thinker, a result-driven strategist and a team-player who can exhibit excellent commercial awareness and contribute to achievement of the Bank’s overall objectives.
• Experience in performance and people management, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
