ICAP of Columbia University is working in partnership with the Ministry of Health to strengthen HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment services at provincial and county health facilities.
This program is part of a US Government initiative against HIV in Kenya that receives funding from PEPFAR through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Applications are invited for the following positions:
Position Title: Prevention Officer
Position Title: Prevention Officer
Location: Machakos with travel to ICAP sites in Eastern South
Specific Responsibilities
- Provide mentorship on adherence and support and ensure all strategies are implemented
- Strengthen linkage to care ( specifically registration) for newly diagnosed clients
- Identify a focal person responsible for adherence –treatment literacy
- Provide technical support in the establishment of appointment and defaulter tracing systems
- Capacity build and mentor peer educators to perform their roles at sites
- Oversee the implementation of ICAP’’s model of peer education program at sites
- Support implementation of Community Prevention With Positives ( PWP) by use of Peer Educators
- Provide oversight for the formation of discordant couples support groups
Requirements
- Relevant degree in Social Sciences, Registered Clinical Officer, Registered Nurse, Nurse Counselor from a recognized institution
- At least 3 years relevant work experience
- At least 3 years Relevant work experience and training in HIV Management
