an INGO, seeks to recruit a dynamic, innovative and results driven Grants and Compliance Officer.
The position will be based in Nairobi.
The overall purpose of the job is to provide support for compliance with funding and reporting requirements in accordance with the grant agreements and other appropriate protocols.
a. Grants Management
- Follow up on budgets from partners, ensure they are received promptly and are authentic.
- Notify partners on any discrepancies in the budgets, financial reports and/or supporting documents and ensure that these are promptly addressed and rectified.
- Follow up on partner reports and examine to ensure that they comply with grant agreements.
- Verify that the financial reports approved from partners are duly uploaded or recorded in the internal financial management system.
b. Financial Management
- File and ensure proper archiving of approved financial reports received from partners.
- Maintain a monitoring log and ensure timely delivery in respect of financial information due from partner organizations.
- Support the preparation of monthly financial reports in respect of the office.
- Maintain an up to date inventory and fixed assets register for the office.
- Conduct annual inventory and stock take in respect of the office.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business related field; Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics.
- Minimum professional qualification CPA part II or equivalent.
- Three (3) years’ relevant work experience in an INGO.
- Has working knowledge of accounting packages such as QUICKBOOKS, SAGE, PASTEL etc and other basic computer application packages.
- Able to maintain accounting records and prepare, analyze and interpret financial reports.

- Ability to plan and organize to be able to accomplish tasks, prepare, classify, file and retrieve reports and accounting documents within required time frames.
- High level of integrity to be able to handle assets, cash and cash related transactions.
- Excellent interpersonal, multi cultural orientation and team spirit skills and is able to relate to people of diversity.
