Kenya Cereal Enhancement Programme
Recruitment of Programme Coordination Unit Staff
Background: The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock & Fisheries, State Department of Agriculture, is rolling out the Kenya Cereals Enhancement Programme (KCEP) whose objective is to contribute to National Food Security.
The programme is funded by European Union through IFAD.
The Ministry wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to the following position:
Programme Assistant (PRA)
Ref. PRA16N OR PRA16S
Reporting to the PRAs in Nairobi, there will be two PRAs, one (1) in Nakuru and one (1) in Siakago Town. The PRAs will have similar duties to the Nairobi PRAs at the sub-unit office.
Duties and responsibilities:-
a) General office administration, including the receiving and directing clients and correspondence and the management of calls and appointments;
b) Ensuring proper custody, filing and retrieval of documents;
c) Preparing relevant documents for the programme;
d) Day-to-day administration of supplies, utilities, maintenance, drivers and other services.
For appointment to this position, applicants must have:-
a) Bachelor’s degree in either Social Sciences or higher diploma from a recognized institution;
b) 2 years’ experience as a programme assistant or similar position, preferably in a donor-funded project;
c) Strong computer application and communications skills (oral, written, presentation);
d) Fluent in English and Kiswahili.
