One of our clients in the Media Industry is looking for a qualified Kenyan candidate to fill the following position based in Juba, South Sudan.
Systems Administrator
Main Purpose of the Job: Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesMain Purpose of the Job: Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
- Preparing and installing solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming
- Undertaking technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
- Ensuring that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organisational values.
- Analyse user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
- Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.
- Analysing and supporting technical issues that affects the organisation
- Improves operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures
- Configure and reconfigure system parameters to ensure appropriate functionality
- Liaising with vendors regarding support and development
- Managing the company database
- Troubleshooting and providing technical know-how on user support
- Implementing fault tolerance systems
- Ensuring security measures are applied and updated on all Workstations
- Carrying out minor repairs on computers and related peripherals and send broken down computers / printers for repairs to approved service providers or suppliers
- Maintaining Network resources
- Monitoring and minimizing software deviations.
- Developing reports based on system data
- Maintaining / cleaning of existing hardware
- Any other duties that may be assigned by Directors from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
- BSC Degree in Computer studies or equivalent
- Over 3 years working experience in a similar role
- Interpersonal relations
- Focused and organised
- Able to work under pressure
