Background: The adoption of the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness by the Government of Kenya (GOK) and its development partners has provided an opportunity for a more robust engagement between the government and donors with regards to development activities in the country.
Background: The adoption of the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness by the Government of Kenya (GOK) and its development partners has provided an opportunity for a more robust engagement between the government and donors with regards to development activities in the country.
One of the areas targeted for enhanced collaboration is devolution.
In order to support devolution across the sectors and ensure harmonization and coordination of donor and GOK interventions, development partners in the Sector have established a Devolution Donor Working Group (DDWG) as a subgroup of the Devolution Sector Working Group (DSWG).
The DDWG has three co-chairs World Bank, USAID and UNDP.
UNDP on behalf of the co-chairs wishes to recruit a Programme Officer, to be based at the UNDP Country Office to support the coordination of DDWG activities.
Required Skills and Experience:
Education:
- At least a Masters Degree in a relevant field, such as Strategic Management, Education, Development Studies, Law, Economics, Organizational Development, or a field related to Public Sector Administration and Management.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experiences in implementation and/or management of donor projects at national level.
- Excellent computer skills (key MS Applications) and ability to use information technology as a tool and resource for excellent financial and project management
- Demonstrated experience in working with donors and government partners and other stakeholders in development programs
- Prior working experience with a multilateral or bilateral international development organization is an added advantage.
- Should be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills, maturity and high integrity
- Fluency in English, including excellent drafting, communication and presentation skills.
