The results of a recent industry-wide scenario development process, led by the Central Bank of Kenya and supported by FSD Kenya, suggests that the use of new technologies presents an opportunity to dramatically further improve financial inclusion.

There is greater dynamism in Kenyan financial markets than has been seen for many years. The results of a recent industry-wide scenario development process, led by the Central Bank of Kenya and supported by FSD Kenya, suggests that the use of new technologies presents an opportunity to dramatically further improve financial inclusion.
Specifically, a shift to of electronic forms of money accessed through non-traditional channels could drive transaction costs down to a point at which a majority of Kenyans can routinely use the formal financial system.
We need an exceptional individual with the breadth of vision and energy to lead FSD’s work to expand financial inclusion through the use of digital innovations.
A key part of FSD’s approach here is to leverage the work of other like-minded international development partners in this field. Activities will be focused on innovation, technical assistance to industry and research.
Who we need
We’re looking for someone with a strong and relevant professional background motivated to apply their skills and experience to solving practical development problems and making a difference.
It will require an entrepreneurial attitude; you will need to be both a ‘thinker’ and a ‘doer’.
At a minimum you will have:
- Relevant expertise working in the financial sector (at least 7 years work experience).Æ’ Æ’
- Relevant professional qualification (minimum of first degree or professional equivalent).Æ’ Æ’
- Excellent communication (written and oral) ability.Æ’ Æ’
- Strong financial analysis skills.Æ’ Æ’
- Experience working with relevant international development partners.
