We seek the services of a suitably qualified candidate to fill the position of a Senior IT Officer.
Vacancy: Senior IT Officer
Reporting To: IT Manager
Job Purpose: Provide high level technical support, guidance, assistance and follow up. And to ensure systems run smoothly in the organization
- Setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues;
- Responding within agreed time limits to call-outs/breakdowns
- Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance grades
- Investigating, diagnosing and solving computer software & hardware faults
- testing and evaluating new technology;
- Conducting electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
- Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications;
- Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks;
- troubleshooting system and network problems
- Maintaining records and software licenses
- Provide end user support for all LAN applications
- Assist and train the first line at the helpdesk on matters they cannot resolve at that level
- Field incoming problem tickets escalated from the helpdesk or end users to resolve software issues as the first call support level
Skills & Requirements
- College diploma/university degree in the field of computer science or Information systems
- Prior work experience gained in IT sector
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Flexible to work on shifts
- Good in multi-tasking
- Ability to work independently
- Basic hardware & software troubleshooting skills
- Ability to analyze software/database errors in a complex business environment
