Vacancy: Finance Manager
Main purpose of the job: The overall responsibility of the Finance Manager is to ensure that the key responsibilities associated with this role are performed in an accurate and timely manner and to manage the finance department for the MB East Africa.

Key Responsibilities
- Preparation, review, analysis and ownership of Profit and Loss accounts for MBEA including variance analysis and expense smoothing on a monthly basis.
- Completion of Balance Sheets and ensure that general ledger reconciliations are performed for MBEA on a monthly basis and ensuring follow up action for correction of errors.
- Monitoring working capital levels for MBEA.
- Supervising the Finance staff in completion of their duties.
- Monitoring and administering banking systems for MBEA.
- Management of fixed asset register for MBEA
- Ensuring that debts are collected in timely manner and provide explanations for any debt above 90days.
- Working with the regional Finance team from South Africa , Singapore and Sydney with:
- Quarterly re forecasts (P&L, Capex, Client Revenue etc)
- Monthly and end of year accounts
- Budgets preparation and review of variances as compared to actuals.
- Monitoring cash-flow and cash holdings for MBEA.
- Transferring funds as required.
- Be the principal custodian of SOX controls and this will entail implementation of WPP policies and procedures at local level.
- Coordinate and ensure annual internal and external audits are done and completed as scheduled.
- Regular review of revenue levels based on percentage of completion of each job. This requires having mid month meetings with the various team leaders.
- Regular updates to the Managing Director and Client Service Director on company financial performance in terms of sales, revenue and Jobs and overall company profitability.
- Regular updates to Scangroup CFO on company financial performance and appraise him on general operational issues.
- Payroll preparation, sign-off and ensuring that staff salaries are paid on time.
- Other ad-hoc tasks as required.

- Training and developing junior finance staff
Key dimensions of the job
- Ensure that attention to detail and accuracy is made when handling payments with debtors to ensure that no debt crosses 90-day mark.
- Ensure that you are well versed with the Tax Laws for Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania
- Good knowledge and understanding of IFRS
- Ensure that you have a good working relationship with other Millward Brown staff

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience
- 4 – 5 years experience in a similar position in a medium to large commercial organisation.
- A degree in commerce or business specialising in accounting and qualified CPA or ACCA
- High level communication and problem solving skills.
- Experience in the supervision of staff.
- Advanced Excel skills.
