Provision of Consultancy Services for Perception Survey and Risk Assessment on Corruption Levels in the Corporation

National Housing Corporation (NHC) is a statutory body constituted under the Housing Act Cap 117 Laws of Kenya and is the principle agency for housing implementation in the country. 

The Corporation has a total workforce of 261 employees and wishes to carry out perception survey and risk assessment on corruption levels in the Corporation. 

The Corporation invites Kenyan registered Consultants/firms with relevant qualification and experience to submit Technical and Financial proposals to undertake this exercise

The selected consultant will be required to:-
 
(i) Undertake a perception survey to establish the Prevalence (Index) of corruption within NHC.
 
(ii) Establish areas within the Corporation that are vulnerable to the vice and undertake a risk assessment.
 
(iii) Recommend /propose to NHC Corruption Prevention Committee (CPC) appropriate strategies and interventions be put in place to curb the vice.
 
(iv) Develop evaluation instruments in this area to assist the Corporation Prevention Committee measure/monitor/evaluate the implementation of the programme.
 
(v) Assess the implementation of anti-corruption programme within the Corporation and provide suggestions for improvement.
 
(vi) Prepare and present a detailed report on the above to the Corruption Prevention Committee and Management.
 
Mandatory Requirements from Consultants:
  • All consultants must submit all the statutory requirements including Registration Certificates, Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from KRA etc
  • Companies must have over Five years experience in similar assignments.
  • A justification as to why your firm should be awarded the project.
  • Reference of similar projects undertaken over the last five years including a brief description of the projects undertaken.
  • Details of principal resource personnel to be deployed in the project.

Provision of Team Building Services

The Corporation has a total workforce of 261 employees and wishes to mount a comprehensive team building exercise and invites appropriate proposals from eligible firms in this field.

The programme will cover all employees and will be in groups of 20-25 members per session. 

The Corporation is therefore seeking suitably qualified trainers to understudy the operations of the Corporation and come up with a custom team building exercise. 

The objective of this training is to build team work, cohesion and bonding among employees and create teams that embrace a positive approach towards work.

The selected service provider will be required:-
 
(i) To understudy the operations of the corporation and come up with appropriate team building proposals befitting the needs of NHC employees.
 
(ii) To undertake team building training for the employees with an emphasis on: -
 
(a) Inculcating a culture that embraces team work, creates synergy and team cohesion in the workplace.
 
(b) Promoting group-process approach in the undertaking of functions.
 
(c) Impartation of leadership qualities, problem solving skills, customer focus and effective collaboration in a team environment
 
(d) Communication skills and use of appropriate language within the group set up.
 
(e) Inspiring employees towards self motivation, positive imaging and creation of a drive to succeed through a motivational session, experiential programmes and role playing.
 
(iii) Recommend to Management appropriate interventions based on best practices to enable the Corporation benchmark in a bid to improve its teamwork.
 
(iv) Prepare a training implementation report to Management.
 
The service provider will also be expected to:
 
(a) Hold pre training meetings with the heads of divisions and units to prepare for the activities
 
(b) Propose a suitable venue for the programme and work out the appropriate logistics and concepts for the programme
 
(c) Provide all the props and equipment for the programme, provide the facilitators whose cost must be inbuilt in the charges
 
(d) individual sessions should be for one to two days

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

Qualification requirements include:
  • Masters Degree in Communications, Public Health, Community Health, Environmental Studies, or other relevant field.
  • At least 6 years of relevant professional experience in communications, community outreach, or public education.  Previous IRS or community education experience desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.

  • English language fluency.
