Danish Refugee Council Programme officer Job

The Danish Refugee Council, Regional Office Nairobi is looking for an English & French - speaking Programme Officer with a background in project management, civil society development and advocacy, for the following position:

Programme Officer, Great Lakes – Nairobi with regular travel in the region

Key responsibilities:

• Help manage and lead the strategic development and implementation of DRC’s Great Lakes Programme in six countries of operation.
• Provide strategic and technical guidance to local and national CSOs working on displacement-related policy and advocacy at the national and regional levels.
• Manage on-going research and capacity-building projects and carry out regular context analyses to inform programming in the six countries.
• Help manage the programme cycle, including monitoring and evaluation, and input into the provision of timely narrative and financial reports to donors and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Masters degree in International Law/Politics.
• Minimum four years’ professional experience with an international NGO in project management, with practical experience in displacement/protection work, and capacity building of CSOs in Africa on policy development and advocacy. Must be fully proficient in written and spoken English and French.
