General Purpose

The successful candidate will be working for the BSO MEA South sub-region Solution Engineering team in the exciting role of realizing standard NSN solutions as well as custom solutions that satisfies unique customer requirements not covered by NSN standard blue-print solutions; this is accomplished by integrating various networks and network elements, including 3rd party products to create a complex solution.

Main Responsibility Area

• Participate in defining low level technical requirements and specification of a new solution.
• Participate in statement of work and effort estimation review.
• Participate in detailed integration project planning
• Interface to customer regarding technical issues and discussions.
• Participate in technical activities and back-end support, through all delivery phases
• Work with 3rd parties in trouble resolution and ensuring compliance to requirements.
• Participate in test strategy and test case development
• Participate in writing and maintaining system documentation.
• Trial and deployment support
• Key responsibilities: research, design, development, testing, planning, installation, customization, integration, commissioning and support of BSO products and solutions.
• He/She has the responsibility for specifying, planning, reporting, designing, reviewing in his/her technical area (e.g. several features).
• Is an expert for technoeconomical aspects in own responsibility area.
• Leads and executes technical activities and projects in own responsibility area.
• Supports resource and program planning.
• Writes requirements, specifications and other guiding documentation for R&D from a technical point of view.
• May work also outside of own process area on technical issues.
• Solves complex engineering problems in many technology areas.
• Coaches other team members in solving complex engineering problems.
• Undertakes technical training responsibilities.

Job Description

Solution Realization:

• Responsible for the Low Level Design documentation as well as the document sign off.
• Responsible for the complete BSO implementation phase installation, commissioning, integration and system testing of the solution.
• Responsible for acceptance tests with the customer.
• Testing/Integration activities in Customer labs
• Ongoing technical support of CSI Solutions

Additional Requirements

Candidates must have sound demonstrable knowledge of the Telecommunication Industries overall interworking in terms of integrating:

• The Customer Experience Management which includes the HLR, VLR, MNP, Smartphone, System Management products.
• Revenue Capture line which includes Business Services, Differentiated Charging, Converged Media which includes IN products.
• Network Quality & Efficiency which includes Network Convergence and Transformation, Operational Automation, Military and Railway monitoring products.
• Security which includes Content Security, Revenue Assurance and Fraud Management products.

Note that knowledge of NSN products will be beneficial.

Additionally:

• Identity management and Integration of web services
• Juniper, Cisco and other L2/L3 & security network elements
• Unix systems/scripting
• Directory Protocols (X.500, LDAP).
• Data modelling Network protocols (SIP, Diameter, SS7, MAP, Radius, TCP/IP, SOAP, SPML, XML, http)
• Software Development experience in a telecommunications environment.
• Strong Customization and software Integration skills in the mobile domain.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Telecommunications field
• 5 to 7 years experience
• Good written and oral communication in English.Prepared to travel to customer locations and work away from home.
