WWF- The Global Conservation Organization, Eastern & Southern Africa Regional Programme Office (WWF ESARPO), is seeking to recruit a:
Programme Assistant:Lake Victoria Catchment Environmental Education Programme– based in Nairobi
Reporting to the Programme Coordinator, the incumbent will work on full time basis to provide administrative and programmatic support to the function

Major Duties and Functions
- Organize meetings and workshops as required by the programme;
- Handle administrative aspects of visits, meetings and workshops as well as the programme coordinator’s travel as required (travel authorizations, visa applications, travel advances and acquittals);
- Liaise with the finance department on procurement processes, payments, and maintain financial reports for programme activities;
- Provide logistical and administrative support to consultants undertaking studies and evaluations;
- Research, compile, analyse, summarize, and present basic information/data on specific programme-related topics as required;
- Edit, proof-read, format and print programme documents and reports;
- Compile materials for producing the department’s newsletter and for updating the website;
- Research and compile preliminary information for development of subcontracts (preliminary research, preparation of terms of reference etc);
- Prepare training modules, awareness raising and workshop materials as required;
- Compile news and progress reports;
- Produce communications materials and bulletins targeted at various audiences;
- Maintain programme documents in a systematic filing system;
- Respond to programme related queries and visitors in the absence of the Programme Coordinator
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- A minimum of a University Degree in Environmental Science or Management, International Development, Development Communications, or related studies.
- Professional experience in relevant field will be an added advantage.
- At least 3 years experience working in programme support in an International Organization with an environmental or conservation focus; good communication skills;
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
- Working knowledge of French will be an added advantage.
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of computer applications (knowledge of graphics software would be an added advantage).
- Outgoing personality and a self-starter; readiness to regularly travel (DRC, Rwanda and Burundi in particular).
