Hivos Kenya Media and Communication ABPP Intern Opportunity

Hivos Kenya is looking for an intern to support the Africa Biogas Partnership Programme (ABPP) Team.

ABPP aims to establish a domestic biogas sector in six African countries: Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Kenya, Senegal, Tanzania and Uganda.

In each country a local (government) agency is in charge of programme implementation and partnerships have been created with governments, NGOs, micro-finance and vocational training institutions and other organisations.

The ABPP started mid 2009 and at the end of 2010, production of biogas plants is at a sufficient level to promote the programme more widely. A website and logo is currently being developed by a professional company.

The ABPP team does not have sufficient capacity to generate content for this website. The intern media and communication will be supporting the ABPP team in generating content (text, images, data) for its website.

Specific tasks and responsibilities will be agreed with the candidate depending on skills and training needs.

Knowledge, competences and experience

·       Student in media, communication or related field

·       oral and written command of English and/French

·       affinity with renewable energy and the development world

The internship is for a period of 3 months, part-time (2-3 days per week).

Interns receive a standard allowance.
