Program Officer Job in Kenya Transport Association (KTA)

The Kenya Transport Association (KTA) is an association of road transporters in Kenya. KTA seeks to instill safety, discipline and professionalism in trucking and to provide a single, authoritative voice on issues of importance to road transport.

To offer efficient services to its members, KTA seeks to recruit a Program Officer - Membership Services.

The PO carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: departmental development, members relations, training and development of employees, to ensure that members operation are efficiently and effectively carried out.

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Program officer will:

• Develop recognition of excellence awards
• Train members in road freight related issues of interest to the members
• Accreditation of course and institutions
• Organize vocational training
• Be in charge of examinations and professional licensing
• Organize conferences, workshops and seminars that relate to the professionalism and modernizing of the freight forwarding industry Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• General knowledge of the transport sector.
• Experience in responding to ad hoc information requests from internal and external parties.
• Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
• Excellent networking skills.

Work Experience

• Two years progressive experience in Member Services or similar position.
• Experience of working on an in-house publication is an added advantage.

Education

• BA/BCOM degree in transport or logistic related field preferred and or Diploma in a subject specializing in transport or logistic coupled with 4 years of experience
