Founded in 1973, Ipas is a global non - governmental organization dedicated to ending preventable deaths and disabilities from unsafe abortion.

Through local, national and global partnerships, Ipas works to ensure that women obtain safe, respectful and comprehensive reproductive health services.

Ipas has a number of vacant positions to be based in Nairobi but working regionally in a number of countries in Africa:

Position: Health Systems Advisor

Full-time, high level technical position

Under the supervision of the program director, and working with the regional support teams, the health systems advisor will be accountable for providing technical expertise in developing training curricula and tools for clinical training in reproductive health; designing and delivering clinical training and mentorship, assessing and overseeing improvement of health facilities, and managing partnerships for the improvement of reproductive health services.

Requirements: A medical degree with advanced training and experience in obstetrics and gynecology, reproductive health, or public health; 4+ years relevant experience in health systems strengthening – training, mentoring, supervision, quality assurance and program management.

Position: Research Monitoring and Evaluation Associate

Full-time, high level technical position

Under the supervision of the program director, and working with the regional support teams, research, monitoring and evaluation associate will design and conduct research, monitoring and evaluation for programmatic and policy activities, support analysis and use of data for decision making, and disseminate program and research results.

Specific duties will include technical and managerial oversight for the implementation of M&E systems, including data collection, management and documentation; ensuring results reporting in consistency with Ipas global standards for M&E; facilitation of routine review and use of M&E findings for program assessment and modifications; and contribution to documentation for reports to donors and other stakeholders

Requirements: A PhD or masters’ degree with 5 years’ experience in conducting monitoring, evaluation and research in reproductive health programs.

Strong skills in quantitative and qualitative research techniques, including demonstrated ability in the development and use of study instruments, and analysis and presentation of data.

Demonstrated ability in the use of one or more statistical computer packages (Epi Info, STATA, SPSS, SAS).
