Legal Officer Job in Kenya Insurance Company

A leading general insurance company is looking for a qualified person to fill the following position:

Title: Legal Officer

Key Responsibilities

·       Giving legal advice and opinions on claims involving third party injuries or material damage

·       Overseeing and ensuring provision of efficient services from external lawyers

·       Negotiating out of court settlements on third party claims and recoveries

·       Drafting and reviewing legal documents

·       Advising the management on the appropriateness or otherwise of legal proceedings or alternative ways of dealing with legal matters

·       Liaising with and appointment of lawyers, doctors and investigators

·       Claims cost management

Person Profile

·       A university law graduate and advocate of the High Court of Kenya

·       At least 30 years of age

·       At least 3 years experience in civil litigation or similar position with a general underwriter

·       Well developed Information technology skills

·       Insurance qualifications would be an added advantage

·       Ability to work with minimal supervision

·       Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

·       Good communication and interpersonal skills

·       Reliable with high level of integrity

·       Ability to build and motivate a team
