in the Position of Secretary to the Power of Mercy Committee

The Power of Mercy Act, 2011
Pursuant to Section 16 (2) of the Power of Mercy Act, 2011, the Public Service Commission of Kenya seeks to nominate persons to be considered for appointment to the post of Secretary to the Power of Mercy Committee by His Excellency the President.
Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified Kenyans wishing to be considered for nomination by the Public Service Commission of Kenya.
For nomination to this post a candidate must:
(i) be a citizen of Kenya;
(ii) possess a degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
(iii) have had a distinguished career in their respective field;
(iv) have at least ten years proven knowledge and experience in matters relating to any of the following fields-

- Law
- Medicine
- Children matters
- Psychiatry
- Religion and Gender
- Disability
- Human rights
- Governance
- Psychology and counseling
- Correctional services
(v)
meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution; and
(vi) have demonstrated professional, administrative and managerial competence.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
(i) being responsible for day to day administration of the affairs of the Committee;
(ii) coordinating the Committee’s reviews, research and evaluations;
(iii) recording the Committee proceedings;
(iv) securing the maintenance and provision of facilities and services required for the discharge of the Committee’s functions;
(v) maintaining accurate records on financial matters and use of resources;
(vi) taking custody of all records and documents of the Committee; and
(vii) performing any other duties assigned by the Committee.
Each application should be accompanied with a detailed curriculum vitae and a copy of the National identity card.
Applications should be made in writing and hand delivered to the Secretary’s office on the 4th floor, Commission House, off Harambee Avenue.
