Jobs: IPD Coordinators for Africa
Vacancies: 2 Positions
Location: Preferably Nairobi, Johannesburg or Dakar
Salary: GBP 32,311 per annum on national terms and

The Job Position
ActionAid has an ambitious strategy to double income from
statutory/institutional donors over the next five years. The International
Partnership Development team within AA International will play a key role in
supporting AA members/country programmes to plan for and fundraise from
statutory donors and to manage contracts when won.
The IPD Coordinator posts will work with members to enhance their knowledge and
capacity around statutory income and ensure that member need in this respect is
communicated as appropriate throughout the AA federation.
Each Coordinator will work with a selected number of members in Africa (and
possibly Latin America) to enable in depth understanding and relationship
building.
Each coordinator will also specialize in procedures, rules and regulations
around one major donor and will provide support throughout ActionAid on issues
around this donor.
Qualification & Experience
The successful candidate should have a proven track record in fundraising from
institutional donors and in managing the contractual and compliance issues
involved with institutional donors.
Candidates with a knowledge of EC, UN agencies or potentially USAID are
particularly welcomed.
Candidates must also be able to show experience of training and knowledge
transfer.
A key part of the role will be mentoring and training colleagues to access and
manage institutional funding.
A function of the post is to ensure that African contexts are fully understood
and incorporated into IPD’s planning and operations.
Candidates must therefore have a good understanding of the African politics,
development issues and the institutional donors operating in Africa.
Excellent English and financial skills are required for this role.
At a personal level, you must have a strong commitment to a human rights based
approach to development, champion women’s rights and value working with diverse
cultures and the poor and marginalised groups.
Your ability and willingness to travel internationally and work flexibly in
virtual settings will be required. The post is managed from a distance. Thus
candidates must be self starters able to manage and plan workloads and
communicate well and regularly with their line manager and other relevant
