We are part of a rapidly expanding
privately owned group of industries in East Africa, with manufacturing
operations in both Kenya and Ethiopia, has the following vacancies and
applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals.
Previous experience in the steel industry would be advantageous.
Financial Controllers – Kenya
Vacancies exist both for a Group Financial Controller to be based at the
company’s head office in Westlands and a Plant Financial Controller to be based
at one of the group’s steel plants in Athi River.
The former will be responsible for consolidation of financial reports for the
group, financial analysis, business planning and fiscal compliance.
The latter will be responsible for financial controls and reporting at the
factory.
Applicants for both positions should be graduates with professional accountancy
qualifications.
They should have had a minimum of ten years experience in equivalent roles,
should be fully computer literate and should possess good interpersonal and
communications skills.
Factory HR Managers – Kenya and
Ethiopia
Vacancies exist for Plant HR Managers for two of the group’s steel plants, one
at Athi River and the other in Ethiopia.
Reporting to the respective Plant Managers and each leading a small team, the
persons appointed will have responsibility for the full range of HR activities
at factory level, including recruitment, payroll administration, appraisal and
disciplinary processes, health and safety, security and staff welfare.
Applicants should be graduates in Human Resources or a related discipline and
should already have had a minimum of five years experience in a generalist role
in a challenging factory environment.
They should have the strength of character and communications skills to operate
cross-functionally and at all levels in the organization.
Internal Auditor – Ethiopia
Based at the Group’s Ethiopian head office in Addis Ababa, a vacancy exists for
an Internal Auditor to develop appropriate checks and balances for all the
Group’s entities in Ethiopia as well as for investigating, reporting on and
remedying any irregularities.
The person appointed will also collect and monitor data for balanced scorecards
used in the Group’s performance management process. Applicants should be
graduates holding professional qualifications and should have had a minimum of
five years experience in a recognized international auditing firm.
