Save the Children Somalia/Somaliland Programme has been working in Central & South Somalia,
Puntland and Somaliland for over 40 years. Our focus of work includes improving access to healthcare, education and food provision to children and their families.
We are looking for a motivated team player to take up the position of Head of Logistics.
This position is responsible for managing and delivering an efficient and effective logistics support to the Somalia/Somaliland Programme. This includes implementing, monitoring and following up with all logistics teams to ensure that all Logistics policies and procedures of the Save the Children are strictly adhered to.

Compliance
- To ensure compliance with donor guidelines and Save the Children’s minimum standards and procedures related to logistics.
Systems
Development
- Ensure that the Save the Children Somalia/Somaliland logistics standards, systems, policies and procedures including procurement, warehousing, supply/stock movement control, freight management, asset management, IT, as well as documentation, filling and reporting, are well established and fully implemented in all offices.
Operational
and capacity strengthening
- Ensure the progamme as a whole has the capacity to manage effective core logistics has the capacity to gear up logistics capacity to respond effectively to emergencies.
- Provide direct management support, training and mentoring to the Somalia Logistics Manager and to field based logistics staff and providing feedback through the review process as to their performance and capacity to undertake their role.
Person
Specification
- At least 10 years national and/or International experience in supply chain management within an emergency context (inclusive of procurement, transport and distribution, warehouse and stock management).
- Relevant Degree or Masters qualification in Logistics, CIPS
