Foods Uganda Ltd (KFU) is a licensed franchisee of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC)
which is the world’s most popular chicken quick service restaurant chain in the
world. In 2012, we shall be expanding our footprint in East Africa by
establishing a presence in Uganda.
In this regard, we are seeking applications for the senior leadership position of Operations Manager (OM). The successful individual will be responsible for the establishment, overall management and performance of the business in Uganda.

The OM will also be responsible for:
- Working with local suppliers to source required ingredients as well as ensuring local suppliers are audited to KFC supply standards;
- Overseeing the initial and ongoing training requirements of a restaurant team/s (and undergoing relevant KFC training himself);
- Formulation and implementation of all company policies and procedures in areas of operations, human resources management, accounting and finance, supply chain, marketing etc;
- Building a culture that entrenches the global KFC values in the company; and
- Ensuring that the KFC stores are operating according to global standards.
Successful
candidates will meet the following criteria:
- Working experience in the hospitality/food business at a sufficiently senior leadership level for a minimum of 5 years
- Must possess a well established business network in Uganda relevant to KFC
- Demonstrable track record of high performance
- Excellent communication and high impact presentation skills
- Well developed negotiation and relationship management skills
- Strong problem analysis, judgment and decision making skills to deal with issues that arise in the course of operations
- A strategic thinker with ability to conceptualize plans, plan activities and deliver on planned targets/objectivesin all aspects of business including financial, accounting, human resources
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, ‘can do’ attitude – very goal orientated
- Strong business acumen and intense desire to see the new business succeed and to dedicate the time required to ensure international operating standards are achieved and maintained
- The ability to handle competently and successfully execute multiple work streams at the same time whilst maintaining focus on the bigger picture
An

The successful jobholder will be required to undertake an extended training either based in Nairobi or South Africa to enable better understanding of in-store and support operations.
During this period an appropriate salary will be negotiated.
