Key Account Manager Job in Kenya

A multinational freight and logistics organization with operations in the region is looking to place an exemplary, qualified and experienced Key Account Manager to take responsibility in leadership and
profitable management of the client account.
 

Reporting to a Business Unit Manager, the candidate’s primary purpose will be to maximize the performance of the operation, forsee operational performance, provide leadership, motivation, training and development of work force and executing against customer requirements.
 

General competency requirements include:

• Create and sustain effective business partnerships (with industry groups, suppliers, government) and colleagues.
• Developing and communicating strategies and goals that achieve competitive advantage.
• Understanding business principles and language, including the fundamentals of finance and profitability, and using this to establish clear priorities for actions to increase performance.
• Thinks and acts across boundaries (eg between processes and countries)

Key deliverables for the position:

• Budget management for the business unit
• Ensuring growth in revenue and profitability through acquisition of new business and maintaining relationships with existing clients
• Maximize inventory accuracy productivity and space utilization
• Responsible for all issues relating to Health & Safety of the environment
• Effective leadership and management of the operational and administration of teams
• Facilities management for the business unit
• Translate analyse and deliver customer needs through effective operations

Minimum experience required for the role

• 6 years experience in supply chain/logistics industry for FMCG
• 6 years of progressive experience in senior management
• Experience in managing a P&L account
• Key performance indicator development 
• Commercial awareness and numeracy 
• Flexibility and able to manage change

Education and Qualification

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a similar field from an accredited university
