CAFOD, one of the UK’s leading international aid agencies, is currently looking for an Advocacy and Policy Advisor – Food Security for the Horn & East Africa region.
This
post will be based in Nairobi, Kenya with some travel within the region.
Job Profile
Working as part of the Horn and East Africa team you will lead and develop CAFOD’s advocacy and policy work on food security in the region.
You
will work with CAFOD programme and humanitarian teams in the region to
integrate advocacy and policy work on food security.
Your Role
- You will also contribute to advocacy, policy and campaign work on food security being undertaken by CAFOD and our partners in the North and South, and support partners in advocacy and lobbying work in the region.
- You will also contribute to CAFOD’s international work on food security through producing case studies.
- You will host visits to the region and deal with the international media.
Your
Profile
You should have relevant experience in research and analysis; knowledge of food security/the food policy environment; policy development and advocacy experience; knowledge of government policy and the role of international institutions involved in food security in the region.
You
should also have knowledge of tools, techniques and ways of working with
partners to address advocacy, policy and gender issues.
