Human Resource Development Manager

The Job
To co-ordinate implementation of Human Resources Development policies and programs

Job Description
Reporting to Head of Human Resource, The Human Resource Development Manager will be responsible for:
  • Liaising with line managers to identify knowledge, skills and competency needs for achieving performance objectives
  • Drawing and managing annual Training and Development plans
  • Facilitating development of in-house training programs
  • Liaising with external institutions for implementation of approved Human Resource Development programs
  • Coordinating productivity improvement and Quality Management programs
  • Conducting post training validation to assess effectiveness of the learning processes
  • Planning , coordinating and implementing succession and career development plans
  • Performance Management.
  • Maintaining an up to- date data bank of Human Resource Development activities.
  • Co-ordinating recruitment and selection processes.
  • Coordinating Management Trainee and Apprentice Schemes.
  • Liaising with Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT) for approval, submission and reimbursement of Training Levy.
  • Acquiring and controlling utilization of training facilities and resources
  • Coordinating career development plans and providing career guidance to employees
  • Controlling Human Resources Development and Recruitment Budgets
  • Managing organizational change
Person Specification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from a recognized institution
  • Must be a holder of Post graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management
  • Minimum 5 years experience in management of training functions
  • Demonstrate professional competence and ability in work performance
  • Masters degree in relevant field (an added advantage)
  • Shown merit and ability in work performance and results
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational ability
  • Computer literate
