Position: Sr. Manager – UNC / Assistant General Manager
Location: Nairobi
Type of Hire: Local
Reporting to: General Manager - Retail, Diplomatic Duty Free Shops, Africa
Salary Package (Gross): 2500 – 3000 USD (Negotiable, depending on the profile of candidate)
Duties and Responsibilities
Supply Chain Management

Duties and Responsibilities
Supply Chain Management
- Forecasting, Ordering and Reordering
- Review of all orders sent by location managers and finalize them
- Selection, introduction and pricing of new lines for all locations
- Procurement, liaise with suppliers and procure at best available prices in the market or internationally
- Maintain good working relationships with suppliers, where required
- Planning of logistics
- Economic distribution and allocation of goods
- Coordination between suppliers and location
Retailing
- Sales forecast for whole financial year for the location
- Day to day operations management and improvement is affected
- Floor and space planning is effected and managed well at the location
- Merchandising and display are professionally maintained
- Branding
- Promotions
- Control all shrinkages and keep them at minimum
Stock Management
- Costing, Pricing and Controls
- Elimination of dead/slow moving stocks
- Control turnaround of stock resulting into increased cash flow
- Regulating and complimenting the whole procurement for all locations
Controls
- Generate all MIS to control operations from the local head quarters
- Stock reconciliations
- Pricing of products and periodical review with regional and local prices
- Dead/slow, expiry stocks movement at all locations are monitored
- Analyse data sent by locations and authentication of sales declared by them at POS and back office
- Verify, reconcile and ensuring daily sales reports are sent on timely basis
- Ensure adherence to Company policies
- Ensure company procedures are strictly adhered to at all locations for effective controls
- Ensure shrinkage is kept at minimum
HR and Training
- Recruitment, interviews in coordination with HR (Interviews)
- Ensure induction program and training schedules for new joiners at locations are effected
- Staff appraisals/reviews
- Day to day staff issues
Finance
- Overlooking of all finance functioning of the location
Qualifications
and Skills
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification; MBA preferred;
- Minimum of 7 years work related experience;
- Strong background in FMCG / Commercial Department an added advantage;
- Proven experience in a similar role;
- Project Management skills an added advantage;
- Demonstrated exceptional people management and leadership capabilities;
- Interest to work in a diverse environment with different cultures;
- Results-oriented senior professional requiring minimal supervision;
- Excellent analytical, logical reasoning and creative problem solving skills;
- Strong organizational, documentation & planning skills;
- Customer Service focus with ability to create impact and influence;
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, negotiation skills;
- Comprehension and development of complex business issues, topics, and plans;
- Passion For quality and an eye for strategic insight.
