The
Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu is an institution of the Aga Khan Health Service,
Kenya which is an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network.
The
hospital is part of a network of health facilities in East Africa which include:
Clinics, Aga Khan Hospital Mombasa, Aga Khan Hospital Dar es salaam and Aga
Khan University Hospital Nairobi.
It
provides medical care to the population of western Kenya region and works with
leading clinicians in the country in the management of complex cases.
The Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu has attained acknowledgment of its quality by achieving ISO 9001:2008
accreditation, ISO 15189:2007 accreditation for laboratory services and is moving towards Joint Commission International Accreditation for clinical quality improvement and patient safety.
The
Aga Khan Hospital, Kisumu has also expanded its services to Kakamega and Busia
Counties.
The
Hospital is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:
ENT Surgeon
Overall Responsibilities
- The
successful candidate will be expected to provide expert
otorhinolaryngology services in the hospital for both outpatients and
inpatients.
- He
or she will be a team player with excellent communication skills and
should participate in the day to day activities of the hospital in
collaboration with other healthcare workers and the hospital management.
- S/he
will set up specialty ENT clinics within the hospital and in the outreach
centers.
- S/he
will be expected to actively participate in CPD activities including
teaching of Interns and Senior House Officers.
Requirements
- M.Med
in Otorrhinolaryngology or equivalent post graduate medical qualification.
- At
least three years of post M.Med
Infectious Disease Specialist
Overall Responsibilities
- The
successful candidate would have expert knowledge in the management of
tropical /infectious/
- communicable
diseases with special emphasis on HIV.
- S/he
should have excellent communication skills; a team player with ability to
maintain good working relations with colleagues, other health care workers
and hospital management.
- S/he
will be expected to actively participate in CPD activities including
teaching of Interns and Senior House Officers.
Requirements
- M.Med
in Internal Medicine or equivalent post graduate qualification
- At
least three years of experience in tropical/infectious /communicable
diseases practice
Intensivist
Overall Responsibilities
- The
successful candidate will provide critical care services within the scope
of the hospital services.
- S/he
should have excellent communication skill, work in harmony with
colleagues, other healthcare workers and the hospital management.
- S/he
will be expected to actively participate in CPD activities including
teaching of Interns and Senior House Officers.
Requirements
- M.Med
in Anaesthesiology or Internal Medicine
- Fellowship
or additional qualification in Critical Care Medicine is desirable
- At
least three years of experience post M.Med
Dermatologist
Overall Responsibilities
The success candidate will be expected to set up and competently manage dermatology services in the
Hospital in accordance with our quality policy which emphasizes continuous improvement of service to meet and exceed customer expectation.
Requirements
- Diploma
in Dermatology or above
- Recognition
as a Dermatologist by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
- Minimum
three years working experience as a dermatologist.
Laboratory Quality Assurance Officer
Overall Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to ensure high quality laboratory test results by performing
independent assessment of laboratory practice by the staff.
S/he
will monitor laboratory compliance with ISO 15189:2007 Standard and ensure all
laboratory staff competence is maintained.
Requirements
- Higher
National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences or above
- Minimum
three years working experience in a busy medical laboratory
- Excellent
knowledge of QMS, laboratory operations and procedures
- Ability
to write and review SOP’s
- Excellent
Computer skills, vibrant PR, demonstrate creativity/ strategic thinking
have a passion and drive for quality/ Customer (including Doctor)
Satisfaction and posses the ability to work with minimum supervision.
- The
Hospital Laboratory is ISO 15189:2007 Accredited and therefore conversance
with that Standard is desirable.
- Registration
with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board with
a current practice license is mandatory.
