MSF Switzerland (MSF-CH) is currently seeking to employ a qualified candidate for the following position:
Function: Support Activity Manager
Number of vacancies: 1
Location: Juba (with frequent travel to projects in the field)
Scope of responsibilities:
The Support Activity Manager supports the logistics coordinator in Juba and will be in charge of the logistics support activities of the entire mission, holding the following responsibilities:
- Define
and implement adequate means, resources and processes for the proper and
safe management of energy, transportation (fleet management), biomedical
equipment, cold chain, radio and telecom, and IT, and do the MSF standard reporting
to the Logistics Coordinator on the development of the ongoing activities
and proposing reorientation when needed.
- Ensure
installation and maintenance of functional office space(s) and
accommodation facilities in an adequate working/living conditions as well
as all the equipment required in coherence with MSF hygiene standard and
security rules.
- Ensure
that the above medical structures and logistics premises (stocks,
workshops, waste management area, etc) respond to MSF standards in terms
of safety, patient flow and hygiene.
- Ensure
the above-mentioned premises are equipped with all the required logistics
equipment (including BIOMEDICAL equipments) which is in good condition and
properly and timely maintained.
- Participate
actively in the definition and update of annual logistics planning and
budgets, defining logistic technical support strategy and advising the
Logistics Coordinator in the transformation of the logistic support needs
identified into objectives, priorities, and resources needed for adequate
logistic support.
- Monitor
and administrate logistics support indicators (fundamentals), collecting
logistic data and monthly reports and forwarding them to the Logistics
Coordinator.
- Plan
and supervise, in close coordination with the HR department, the
associated processes (recruitment, training, briefing/debriefing,
performance evaluation, detection of potential, development and internal
communication) of the logistics support staff in the mission in order to
ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required to implement
all these related activities to the logistics staff under his/her direct
responsibility.
- Ensure
technical reference for all logistic support issues in the mission and
provides coaching to logistics staff.
Recruitment
criteria:
Education: Technical degree/diploma or equivalent MSF experience (Deputy Logco, Field Logistician, Head of Logistic Activity)
Experience: At least two years of experience in a similar position
Languages: Arabic, English (fluent written and spoken)
Knowledge: Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, and Internet)
Personal qualities:
Strong
organisational and technical skills, flexibility and open-mindedness, ability
to work with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural people, good communication
skills including the ability to listen, and diplomacy.
