Dean - School Of Computers & Engineering Sciences
Reporting to the DVC-Academic Affairs, the holder of this position will be responsible for the school including managing people, assets, finances, research and academic processes.
Responsibilities:
- General
responsibility for all matters concerning budgets, syllabus selection,
student issues teaching and learning.
- Promoting
and fostering academic and professional development of academic staff.
- Providing
leadership in the development, organization and delivery of curricula.
- Promoting
and fostering research among academic staff in the school.
- Promoting
and maintaining quality assurance and improvement of learning and teaching
based on the University’s academic quality assurance framework.
- Ensuring
that the necessary learning and teaching materials and other academic
resources and facilities are available.
- Promoting
a lively academic atmosphere in the school by organizing seminars, talks
and conferences.

profile:
For appointment to this position, the person must have the following qualifications.
- Holding
the position of an Associate Professor with a Doctorate in an area
relevant to the School.
- A
minimum of five years experience in an administrative role in a
University.
- Conversant
with disciplinary/professional trends and higher education activities on
an international level.
- Interest
in the advancement of higher education ¡n Kenya and Africa in general.
- Excellent
interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Collaborative
approach to governance.

The
successful candidate will be appointed for an initial three (3) year term
subject to renewal.
Director, Audit, Risk And Compliance
Director, Audit, Risk And Compliance
Reporting to the University Council, the holder of this position is expected to effectively manage the University’s Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance function to all areas of University’s operations, in a manner that will accomplish the University’s objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains
a continuous and effective working relationship with University Council’s
Audit & Risk Committee,Vice Chancellor and Senior Management.
- Deal
with current and pertinent issues relating to improvement of internal
controls, governance and risk management processes within the University.
- Takes
responsibility for coordinating internal & external audit processes to
completion.
- Keeps
the University Council’s Audit & Risk Committee and Vice Chancellor
informed of the results of the audit and risk associated with University
activities and services.
- Assists
the University in developing its own risk registers.
- Reviews
user related procedures/policies to ensure they provide for adequate and
efficient internal controls to mitigate the associated risks.
- Advises
Management on new developments that affect control and provides solution
in a proactive manner
- Responsible
for the Departmental budget.
- General
supervision and management of other staff within the Department.
Applicants
profile:
- Bachelor’s
degree from a recognized institution; An MBA degree would be of advantage.
- Minimum
6 years auditing experience including 3 years in a senior level position,
with extensive knowledge and experience in internal auditing, risk
management, information systems and governance.
Full
qualification in any of the following bodies CPA, CIA, CISA, CISM, CRISC,
etc.
Also
desired is membership in the following professional bodies; ICPAK, lIA &
ISACA.
