Request
for Expression of Interest For Provision of Consultancy Services to Conduct A
Gender Capacity Assessment and Trainings Related To Energy Services Provision
in Kenya
Individual Consultants
The World Bank is seeking two individual locally-based consultants to conduct two separate gender assessments and trainings for various energy service institutions in Kenya.
The World Bank’s Africa Renewable Energy Access Program supports governments across Africa to strengthen how gender is considered in the design and implementation of programs to promote energy access.
In
Kenya, the AFREA program will be working with the Ministry of Energy, the Kenya
Power and Lighting Company, and other government institutions, to improve how
gender is mainstreamed into energy access programs.
The objective of this assignment will be to identify key challenges within the Ministry of Energy and select energy parastatals, in terms of technical capacity for gender mainstreaming, and to conduct capacity building workshops to strengthen technical capacity for gender mainstreaming in these institutions.
The
assignment is expected to take up to 40 person days, per consultant, and may
involve travel outside Nairobi.
The World Bank invites eligible individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing the above services, by submitting a CV and one-page expression of interest.
Qualified
consultants will have experience in gender mainstreaming, ideally in the energy
sector; experience designing and delivering training activities related to
gender mainstreaming is required.
The
expression of interest and CV must include academic qualifications, experience
and description of similar assignments performed. (Note that this is not a
request for financial and/or technical proposals.)
Consultant shall be selected in accordance with the World Bank procedures; qualified candidates will be contacted for an interview.
Interested candidates should submit their CV and expression of interest by email to jobskenya@worldbank.org.
Expressions
of interest should be received by December 5th, 2012.
